About

Former Senior Staff Photographer for Golf Digest, Stephen was a fixture on the PGA Tour for nearly 30 years.  When Stephen was not following another championship winner on the golf course he was far away from tournament crowds, alone on a golf course in Tasmania, Korea, Ireland, Canada, Scotland, England, Australia and more than anywhere, the United States.

It was those quiet weeks, waiting for the light to be just right to capture the best possible image of a golf course that became his passion.   Being in the right place is not enough, being in the right place at the right time, when the light is best, that is the challenge that motivates Stephen.

Stephen does it the old fashioned way, with patience. From a helicopter, drone, lift or ground he waits until the light is ideal. No matter how talented the photographer, how beautiful the golf course, light is the most important ingredient for successful golf course photography.

In 2030 the PGA of American presented the Lifetime Achievement Award in Photojournalism to Stephen.
